Safari Land Rover Rental – Prices & Conditions
To ensure a safe, smooth, and unforgettable self-drive safari in Tanzania, please review the following requirements, conditions, and pricing options.
We are happy to assist you with planning every detail of your journey.
1. Requirements for Renting the Land Rover

Minimum Age: The driver must be at least 25 years old.

Vehicle Handover & Return: Please allow 3–4 hours for the Land Rover handover.
Handover times:
Monday–Friday: 08:00–13:00
Saturday: 08:00–11:00
Return times:
Monday–Friday: until 16:00
Saturday: until 12:00
Sunday: Closed – no handover or return possible. -
Driver’s License: A valid international driving permit and the original driver’s license must be presented.

Minimum Participants: A minimum of 2 people is required to rent the Land Rover.
If only 1 person is traveling, a driver/guide must accompany the rental. -
Planned Route: Before confirming the booking, we require a roughly planned route.
We are happy to help you create your ideal Tanzania safari itinerary. -
Deposit: A booking becomes confirmed only after receiving an advance deposit.
2. Accommodation Support
If you plan to stay in lodges, tented camps, or hotels, we are happy to arrange the bookings for you.
We often receive better rates than online booking platforms.
We recommend not booking accommodations independently, as past guests sometimes arrived at lodges without valid reservations, which creates complications with the park authorities.
3. Important Safety Information

Night driving is strictly prohibited, as it is unsafe due to other road users who may drive without proper lighting.

The vehicle must be returned in Arusha.
4. Current Land Rover Rental Prices
We offer two pricing options. Please choose your preferred option before the start of the safari.
Option 1 – Kilometer-Based Pricing
a) Rental Rate:
USD 1.10 per km + VAT (USD 1.30 per km including VAT)
Minimum daily distance: 100 km per day
The Land Rover is provided fully fueled and must be returned with a full tank.
b) Additional Insurance:
Mandatory for all customers.
Covers all damages except intentional damage and tire damage.
USD 14.16 per day (up to 7 days)
From day 8 onward: USD 118.00 flat rate for the entire safari.
Option 2 – Daily Flat Rate
USD 220 per day
Includes VAT and full insurance coverage
The Land Rover must be returned with a full tank.
5. Camping Equipment
USD 15 per day (including taxes)
Includes complete camping equipment and Flying Doctors emergency evacuation coverage, required for all customers.
6. Visa Information

7. Booking Confirmation
Please contact us within 7 days to confirm your booking.
After this period, the Land Rover may be offered to other customers.
